Every Routers field, CSV values, and likely warnings.
The Routers page is critical because every platform action depends on the selected router.
Router fields
Name is required, max 64 characters, and accepts Arabic/English letters, numbers, spaces, underscore, dot, and dash.
IP / Host is required. Enter only an IP or hostname, such as 10.10.20.2 or router.example.com. Do not enter http://, https://, or paths.
API Username is required. API Password is required for new routers, but optional when editing. If left blank while editing, the old password remains.
Secure transport fields:
- API-TLS certificate name verifies the RouterOS api-ssl certificate. If blank, IP / Host is used.
- Dedicated SFTP username and password are used for hotspot page file deployment.
- The SFTP account must differ from the API account.
- SFTP host-key fingerprint must use OpenSSH SHA256 format, for example SHA256:AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
- Migrate this router to secure-only transport appears for older or exception-based routers and requires complete SFTP data.
Hotspot Name, DNS Name, Phone, Email, and Info Link are optional. Currency is optional, max 10 characters. Idle Timeout is required from 1 to 1440 minutes. Logo must be PNG up to 1024 KB. The legacy report compatibility flag does not record sales or payments; new sales are recorded in the Voucher Lifecycle Report.
Router actions and states
Select makes the router active. Test Connection verifies MikroTik reachability and credentials. Re-bind should be used only for an intentional device swap.
Status values include Enabled, Disabled by client/operator, Quarantined by subscription limit, Enabled but unreachable, and Enabled, connection not yet verified. Subscription quarantine cannot be removed by editing or re-enabling the router.
CSV import
Required columns:
name, host, api_username, api_password
Useful optional columns:
name_ar, api_tls_server_name, file_transfer_username, file_transfer_password, sftp_host_fingerprint, hotspot_name, dns_name, currency, phone, whatsapp, email, address, location_name, location_id, latitude, longitude, timezone, presence_mode, info_link, idle_timeout, report_sales, is_active
Common errors:
- The file has no data rows.
- Invalid host.
- A router with this IP/host already exists.
- Duplicate IP/host inside the file.
- Fix the invalid rows first.
- This import would exceed your router limit.
- SFTP username, password, and host fingerprint are all required.
- Use a dedicated file-transfer account.
- Enter an OpenSSH SHA256 host fingerprint.
- New routers cannot enable plaintext fallback.
- Presence mode accepts remote/onsite only.
When Update existing routers is enabled, a row whose IP matches a router you own updates it instead of being rejected. Blank passwords in update mode keep the current saved passwords.
Existing MikroTik detected
Restore previous record keeps the old history and updates connection details. Keep as fresh router creates a separate router record.
